AGE & GENDER

Social Media Stress

There are a couple of takeaways from this visual. First, the highest stress levels for males are occuring on Reddit. More information would be needed to see what men are reading on this platform, whether the stress has to do recreational topics, like gaming posts, or more serious topics, like financial subreddits. Another insight comes from women, who have reported the lowest stress levels on Twitter, with Facebook as a close second only 0.1 above. This may be since Twitter and Facebook are the more pop-culture sites, focusing on family photos and celebrity drama rather than Instrgam, where people may be concerned with what other friends are doing on a Friday night, inducing stress. Lastly, it is easy to see that social media as a whole plays a great part in stress levels, as not one in this set dropped below 3.75.

Gender and Therapy: Does it Lower Stress Levels?

The most glaring insight of this visual is that the more therapy you go to, does not correlate to a lower stress level. In fact, the highest stress levels were those that went to 9-10 therapy sessions per month. Additionally, The cluster of the higher stress levels was around 40 years old, as that may be the point in time when people are worrying about finances, family, and so on. Lastly, the lowest stress levels were actually at the bottom of the therapy sessions. Those who recieved less than 4 therapy sessions a month recorded stress levels of below 6 majority of the time.

How Sleep Effects Anxiety Through the Years

The first insight to catch ones eye may be the complete opposite colors in the four corners. For example, people ranging from 18-20 years old has the highest anxiety levels when they had the most sleep! However, those aged sround 45 years reported the lowest anxiety levels when recieving 10 hours of sleep. This may be caused by a case of "FOMO" (Fear of Missing Out) in one's college years, or the looming essay deadlines. In the 30s, it it slwon that recieving only 4 hours a sleep a night incudes the highest anxiety. This can be for a variety of reasons, from work, to newborn babies. Overall, there is not much correlation between sleep hours, age, and anxiety levels besides the extremes.
